Examples of two local companies/organisations worked on achieving goal 15 : Princess Nourah University took part in the "Let's Make It Green" national afforestation initiative, which was initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the National Center. By afforestation of 45 places on the university campus, around 750 seedlings of Gulf Ghaf and Acacia trees were planted, the campaign aims to contribute to environmental preservation, combatting desertification, and increasing vegetation (Princess Nourah University, 2022). The Riyadh Municipality launched an initiative entitled "A Tree for Every Building", which aims to increase the pace of afforestation in the city of Riyadh and double the number of trees and take care of them. What the world has reached until today : Based on net gains in forest area recorded in these regions from 2010 to 2020, Asia, Europe, and Oceania appear to be on track to increase their forest area by 3% between 2015 and 2030. Africa and South America, on the other hand, were still losing forest land, but at a slower rate than previously. The Global Forest Goals Report (United Nation, 2021). New Zealand's government established the One Billion Trees Programme in 2019 to improve the country's environmental, economic, social, and cultural benefits. By 2028, the campaign hopes to have planted one billion trees.   explaining the chosen sustainable development goal : we aim to change the planet to a better place where we can get fresh air and a healthy environment, also to help the animals find a comfortable area to live and provide the food that they need to survive (Kukreja, 2009). Why is this goal is important ? because Afforestation is an attempt to create a forest by planting trees on barren land to create a forest.   The United Nations approved the SDG goals in 2015 as a call for action to people all around the world to address five essential areas by 2030. which are: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership.
