The United Nations approved the SDG goals in 2015 as a call for action to people all around the world to address five essential areas by 2030. which are: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership.
1- No Poverty
The first goal aims on eliminating extreme poverty for all people everywhere (Poverty eradication | Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2022).
2- Zero Hunger
The second goal that the United Nations aims to achieve is to reduce the hunger levels worldwide. By empowering small farmers to produce healthier food, controlling the climate changes, and reducing poverty in the rural areas (Food security and nutrition and sustainable agriculture | Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2022).
3- Good Health and Well-being
it aims to stop the crises of AIDS, TB, malaria, and other contagious diseases. Reduce deaths from non-communicable illnesses. Along with decreasing the number of fatalities and damages from car accidents (Health and population | Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2022).
4- Quality Education
The fourth goal of the SDGs aims to provide a safe education environment along with equal opportunities for education to both genders of all ages. Also, improving the areas of the education system.
5- Gender Equality
This goal aims to empower women and girls. As well as encourage gender equality between men and women in business opportunities, life choices along with equal access to society.
6- Clean Water and Sanitation
This goal aims to guarantee that all people have access to clean water and sanitation. (Food security and nutrition and sustainable agriculture | Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2022).
7- Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal 7 is to provide everyone with reasonable, stable, sustainable, and advanced energy. Sustainable energy is a vital enabler that enhances the quality, accessibility, and stability of services that people rely on to survive.
8- Decent Work and Economic Growth
The eighth goal aims to ensure balanced and long-term economic growth, as well as complete and productive income and acceptable work for all (Hub, 2022).
9- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
This objective aspires to provide high-quality, dependable, long-lasting, and resilient infrastructure that is affordable and equitable to all. along with encouraging equitable and sustainable industrialization and boosting small-scale industrials' access to credit (Industry, innovation, and infrastructure, 2022).
10- Reduced inequalities
It aims on reducing any inequality in the society that affects a person’s life or career. Like age, sex, religion, race, disability, etc.
11- Sustainable Cities and Communities
Cities should provide secure and affordable houses, public transit, and public green areas, according to the plan. It asserts that communities should be prepared to survive major disasters and protect people who are susceptible while avoiding economic damage (Society, 2022).
12- Responsible consumption and Production
Sustainable consumption and production entail encouraging resource and energy efficiency. (Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production - SDG Tracker, 2022).
13- Climate Action
Goal 13 asks for immediate action to combat global warming and its consequences. Countries approved the Paris Agreement to restrict global temperature rise to far below 2 degrees Celsius in order to combat climate change (Climate Action - United Nations Sustainable Development, 2022).
14- Life Below Water
This goal focuses on the importance of the life below water. and it aims on maintaining the oceans clean for a healthier environment under the water.
15- Life on Land
This goal strives to maintain, repair, and encourage sustainable use of ecological systems, manage forests sustainably, prevent dryness, and limit and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss (Forests | Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2022).
16- Peace, justice and Strong Institutions
This goal aims to create peaceful and inclusive societies in order to achieve long-term development and to provide equal access to justice for everyone (SDG Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions - UNICEF DATA, 2022).
17- Partnership for The Goals
This goal seeks to enhance implementation mechanisms and revive the global partnership for sustainable development. Partnerships are the glue that holds the SDGs together and will be critical to making the SDGs a reality (SDG Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions - UNICEF DATA, 2022).
